Understanding Hair Growth & Thinning
Each hair grows from a follicle within the skin. Hair normally moves through periods of growth, transition and rest before shedding and beginning another cycle. Different hairs are at different stages at any given time.
In pattern hair loss, follicles can gradually produce shorter, finer hairs. Genetics and hormones play a role, but not all shedding has the same cause. Scalp health and the distribution of thinning help determine which treatment is appropriate.
FUE relocates selected donor follicles. It does not reactivate every thinning follicle or replace the need to identify the cause of hair loss.

Is Hair Restoration Right for You?
Good overall health, a suitable pattern of loss and adequate donor hair are important when considering restoration. Donor supply places a practical limit on the density and area that transplantation can address.
What your evaluation considers
- The amount and quality of donor hair.
- The cause, extent and progression of thinning.
- Your scalp health and medical history.
- The hairline, density and coverage you hope to achieve.

NeoGraft FUE Hair Restoration
A donor area
Hair is usually selected from the back or sides of the scalp. Follicular units are harvested individually, avoiding removal of a continuous strip of scalp.
A recipient area
Grafts are placed into planned sites with attention to growth direction and coverage. FUE can also be considered for selected eyebrow concerns or to help camouflage some previous transplant scars.
No hair-transplant method is completely scar-free. FUE leaves small extraction scars and has limits related to donor supply and graft survival.

The Hair Restoration Process
Harvest
The donor area is trimmed and numbed. The FUE system assists in collecting individual follicular units from suitable donor hair.
Prepare
The grafts are assessed and sorted for placement. Protecting these delicate living units is part of the procedure.
Place
Recipient sites are planned around the existing growth pattern. Grafts are placed individually in the areas selected for restoration.
Sessions commonly last three to eight hours, depending on the plan. Read the complete hair-transplant process for more detail.

What to Expect as Your Hair Grows
Healing and new growth happen on different timelines. Your team will provide instructions for washing, activity, sleep position and scalp care. Follow those instructions for your procedure rather than treating a general timeline as personal clearance.
The first days
Tenderness, swelling, redness and small crusts can occur. Protect the grafts from rubbing and direct shower pressure. Discuss gentle cleansing, saline spray and head elevation with the team.
The first weeks
Crusts usually loosen during early healing. Transplanted hair shafts may shed before new hair grows. Trimming the donor area can leave a visible short patch until the surrounding hair grows back.
The months ahead
Regrowth develops gradually. Early growth may appear around three to six months, with fuller development around a year; your timing and density may differ. Ongoing thinning of untreated hair can affect the overall appearance.
Ask when you can exercise, wear headwear, color your hair and return to work. Your plan may include avoiding hair dyes or harsh chemicals for six to eight weeks and protecting the scalp from sun for the first three months; confirm the exact schedule with your surgical team.

Understand the Tradeoffs Before Treatment
FUE avoids a long strip scar, but it is surgery. Small extraction scars remain, and healing can involve bleeding, infection, altered sensation or prolonged irritation. Some grafts may not grow, density can be uneven, and additional treatment may be considered.
The amount and quality of donor hair limit coverage. Hair transplantation does not stop future loss of your existing hair. A realistic plan balances what you want now with the hair available for the future.

Preparing for Your Procedure
Ask the practice for the current pre-operative instructions, post-operative instructions and recovery tips for your treatment. Your written instructions should cover medicines, scalp care, activity restrictions and whom to contact with concerns.
Preparation may include washing your hair before treatment, choosing a button-down shirt and avoiding alcohol and caffeine shortly before surgery. Confirm your preparation plan with the team, especially any medication changes.
Plan ahead
- Confirm your arrival and return-home arrangements.
- Review the instructions before the procedure.
- Know how to reach the team during recovery.

Hair Transplant Questions
How much does a hair transplant cost?
The estimate depends on the graft count, treatment area and complexity of your plan. Your consultation includes a personalized quote.
Do hair transplants work?
Suitable donor follicles can grow in their new location, but the amount of growth and visible density vary. The plan should also account for future loss of untreated hair.
Can someone else donate hair?
A standard hair transplant uses your own living follicles. Hair from another person is not used in routine cosmetic transplantation.
Will FUE leave scars?
FUE avoids the single long donor scar associated with strip harvesting. Individual extraction sites still leave small scars; it should not be described as scar-free.
How soon can I return to normal activities?
Some daily activities may resume early, but graft protection, exercise restrictions and visible healing can last longer. The team will provide a schedule based on the procedure and your work.
Will I need ongoing treatment?
Possibly. Existing hair can continue to thin after a transplant. Medication or later restoration sessions may be discussed as part of a longer-term plan.
