What is a Brazilian Butt Lift?

A Brazilian butt lift is a procedure used to enhance a patient’s buttocks if it appears to have a flat or sagging appearance. As a Brazilian butt lift specialist, Dr. Craft performs the all-natural augmentation procedure to reshape, enhance, or add more projection to various areas of the buttocks. The result is a more natural, artistically sculpted, and attractive backside appearance.

During the procedure, liposuction is used to remove unwanted fat from selected areas of the body, including the abdomen, flanks, and outer thighs. The fat is carefully purified and then strategically injected to highlight your most attractive features.

Who is an ideal candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift?

The ideal Brazilian butt lift candidate is a patient who demonstrates either a flat or sagging buttock appearance. However, not all women are ideal candidates. Patients must have enough fat in other regions of their body in order to transfer fat volume to their buttocks. If you have insufficient body fat, male or female buttock implants may be considered.

What is the difference between a Brazilian butt lift and butt implants?

The Brazilian butt lift is the preferred technique for buttock augmentation. Using fat transfer, the patient’s own body fat is injected to help reshape and contour the region. Fat transfer allows for a more natural result, with lower risk of infection. Fat transfer also allows for contouring various regions, allowing for a more individualized approach. Liposculpting of the lower back and hips can be performed simultaneously to further enhance the results of your Brazilian butt lift.

Patients with inadequate body fat, such as naturally thin individuals or body builders, implants may be used to create further enhancement.

How long does it take to recover from a Brazilian Butt Lift?

Garment use is encouraged for the first two to four weeks to reduce post-operative swelling. After fat grafting, patients may experience mild bruising, swelling, and local discomfort for several days to one week after their procedure. Patients can return to work and other regular activities as soon as they feel comfortable, which is usually after several days to one week.

How long will the results of my Brazilian Butt Lift last?

The results of Brazilian butt lift can be long lasting, as long as patients maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. Substantial weight gain or loss can affect the shape of your butt lift procedure. Long-term results depend upon the portion of injected fat that is naturally absorbed back into the body. Most of the time, you can expect a 60-85% survival of the injected fat.

What are the risks involved with a Brazilian Butt Lift?

When performed by a properly qualified plastic surgeon, the risk of serious problems after a Brazilian butt lift are rare. Most complications are minor, temporary, and can be easily resolved with conservative treatment and time. Complications may include prolonged swelling, infection, scarring, or unsatisfactory aesthetic result. You can reduce your risk of complications by closely following Dr. Craft’s post-operative instructions.
